I take on a small roster of business owners and run the whole financial picture as a single engagement: the bookkeeping, the financial statements, the tax strategy for the company and for you personally, and every return that comes out of it. Planning happens before year-end, not after, and you work with me from start to finish with no handoffs in between.
For business owners I do one thing: take the whole financial picture, the company's and yours together, and run it as a single engagement. What follows isn't a list of options to choose between. It's what's inside the one thing.
Reconciled, coded, and actually reviewed every month. By me, not handed off. The numbers are right before anyone makes a decision on them.
Monthly statements meant to be read, not filed. You'll know what happened in the business and why, while you can still do something about it.
The entity and you personally, planned as one thing. Reasonable comp, entity structure, retirement plans, QBI: decided in June, not discovered in March.
The business return, your 1040 and your spouse's, and quarterly estimates for all of it. Prepared by the same person who kept the books all year.
There's a smaller version of the same idea for individuals and households: two planning sessions a year. One mid-year while the year can still be changed, one in the fourth quarter before the calendar closes your options. Then the return, prepared as the result of those conversations rather than as a discovery exercise. From $1,500/year. See what moves that number.
What I don't do is filing on its own. A return I first see in March is one I can only report, not improve.
Two kinds of work sit outside that engagement entirely. Both are project-based, most of it comes to me from attorneys, and both are scoped and quoted per matter.
Fraud examinations, internal investigations, fund tracing, economic-damages analysis, and expert-witness engagements. Work attorneys bring me when they need an accountant who can find what happened and then explain it clearly to people who aren't accountants.
Independent valuations for buy/sell transactions, gift and estate planning, and litigation support, prepared as a NACVA Certified Valuation Analyst. Pairs with the forensic work above when a dispute needs both the number and the story behind it.
I limit the number of clients and engagements I take on each year. That way, every client gets my full attention, from kickoff through delivery, with no handoffs in between.
I do the work, review the work, and sign the work. Start to finish, you're working with me.
I use current technology, including AI, to do better work, faster. The judgment is still mine.
One fee for the whole relationship, agreed in writing before we start. No hourly meter.
Same-day responses. Status updates without having to ask.
Business owners: one engagement billed monthly, covering books, financials, strategy, and every return for the company and for you. From $2,000/mo. Individuals: two planning sessions and the return, from $1,500/year. Both are starting points. If you're early and growing, we start where you are and step up as the work does.
Send a short note about what you're working on and I'll follow up within one business day. I take on a limited number of new engagements each year, so the earlier the conversation starts, the better.
