Charlie Barmore, CPA, CFE, CVA

An AI-native CPA for businesses that run on AI.

I help business owners put AI to work in their operations, and I run their books and taxes the same way: in a shared workspace where you, your agent, me, and my agent work on the same numbers. Agents do the mechanics. I do the judgment, and nothing posts or gets filed without my sign-off.

Put AI to work in the business, not just the inbox.

Most owners have tried a chatbot. Far fewer have agents doing real work in their operations. I help you find where AI pays off in your business, set it up safely, and build the workflows that stick. It's the same approach I use with accounting firms, and the same one I run my own practice on.

New workflows and refinements as the business changes, and a direct line to me, not a ticket queue.

Everything past the hourly rate is scoped and priced in writing before it begins. There is no pressure to move up the ladder.

You, your agent, me, and my agent. One workspace.

If parts of your business already run on an agent, your accountant should be able to work with it. In the workspace, your agent can send documents, read your statements, ask questions, and propose entries. My agent does the reconciling, coding, and drafting. I review and approve. You see all of it.

You

Upload documents, read your books and deliverables, ask questions, and approve plans.

Your agent

Connects with the access you allow. Sends documents, reads statements, asks questions, and proposes transactions.

My agent

Handles the mechanics: intake, coding, reconciliations, and first-draft workpapers.

Me

Review, judgment, and sign-off. Nothing posts to your books or gets filed without my approval.

The rule: agents propose, the CPA approves. Every change an agent suggests, yours or mine, waits for my review before it touches your books or a return. The workspace is opening as a pilot, by invitation, to a small number of clients. If your business already runs on agents, tell me about it.

The books and taxes, run the same way.

For business owners I run the whole financial picture, the company's and yours together, as a single engagement. Agents handle the mechanics underneath, and I do the work that takes judgment. What follows isn't a list of options to choose between. It's what's inside the one engagement.

If you don’t own a business

There's a smaller version of the same idea for individuals and households: two planning sessions a year. One mid-year while the year can still be changed, one in the fourth quarter before the calendar closes your options. Then the return, prepared as the result of those conversations rather than as a discovery exercise. From $1,500/year. See what moves that number.

What I don't do is filing on its own. A return I first see in March is one I can only report, not improve.

Brought in on a matter

Two kinds of work sit outside that engagement entirely. Both are project-based, most of it comes to me from attorneys, and both are scoped and quoted per matter.

CFE

Forensic & fraud

Fraud examinations, internal investigations, fund tracing, economic-damages analysis, and expert-witness engagements. Work attorneys bring me when they need an accountant who can find what happened and then explain it clearly to people who aren't accountants.

CVA

Business valuation

Independent valuations for buy/sell transactions, gift and estate planning, and litigation support, prepared as a NACVA Certified Valuation Analyst. Pairs with the forensic work above when a dispute needs both the number and the story behind it.

You work with me. Not a team.

I limit the number of clients and engagements I take on each year. That way, every client gets my full attention, from kickoff through delivery, with no handoffs in between.

Direct access

I do the work, review the work, and sign the work. Start to finish, you're working with me.

AI-native

Agents do the mechanics so my time goes to the judgment. I build the tools myself.

AI advisory: Working Sessions from $300 an hour, and fixed fees for the assessment and implementation, quoted in writing. Books and tax: one engagement billed monthly, covering books, financials, strategy, and every return for the company and for you, from $2,000/mo. Individuals: two planning sessions and the return, from $1,500/year. If you're early and growing, we start where you are and step up as the work does.

Let's talk through what you need.

Send a short note about what you're working on and I'll follow up within one business day. I take on a limited number of new engagements each year, so the earlier the conversation starts, the better.
